It's important that you know that there is a real person behind Performance Training® and RACE5™. So let me introduce myself...

A dad first and foremost to my two amazing daughters, I am also an Academic, Performance Coach, and Athlete! 

ACADEMIC
My academic achievements include a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, which I took into my role as a university lecturer for 5 years. I continue to share my knowledge and expertise with students at our Performance Training Academy, so please take a look at 'Our Academy' if you are interested in a career in fitness as personal Trainer. PERFORMANCE COACH
I have over 15 years experience as a Personal Trainer and Performance Coach. This has included fantastic opportunities to work with elite athletes in my Sport Science role at Watford Football Club, Charlton Athletic, and Saracens Rugby.

I bring this experience to ALL my clients to ensure that I deliver cutting edge training, nutrition, and recovery protocols to Unlock Your Full Potential.

Whether you're starting out on your fitness journey, looking for your next performance goal (including HYROX and RACE5), or setting your sights on reaching your full athletic potential, I have ensured that at Performance Training, we have the training approach that is right for you!

ATHLETE
I practice what I preach! I am out there on the track with you, you will see me in the gym, you might catch me out running or at a Parkrun, or HYROX race!

I know what it takes to prepare for performance. I have taken part in 10+ HYROX races in Men's Open, Men's Pro, Men's Doubles, and 
I have qualified for 2 HYROX World Championships (Manchester 2023 and Nice 2024). My current HYROX solo Personal Best is 1:01:53 and I am currently racing this 2025/2026 HYROX season, where I recently came 3rd and secured podium in Doubles for our age group!


VIJAY REED

I know what it's like to be overweight, stressed, and time poor. During the pandemic in 2020, I focused on my health and wellbeing while working from home full time. As well as losing 10kg/22lbs over 6 months through healthy and consistent nutrition and exercise, I created a sustainable lifestyle where I am the strongest and fittest I have ever been in my 50s!!

I want to pay forward my experience, and qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2021. I discovered a passion for HYROX and fitness racing in 2023 and have not looked back. I joined Aaron's Performance Training x HYROX Malaga training camp in April 2024 where I came 3rd in my AG when we raced in HYROX Malaga! I have since gone on to achieve my Personal Best in the Women's Open (1:27:21, Warsaw 2025) and a Personal Best and 3rd in AG for the HYROX Open Women’s Doubles (1:13:32, London Olympia 2025)! I was also the Age Group winner in the Deadly Dozen Women’s Doubles (2023/24) and came third in RACE5 Women’s Doubles (April 2025). I love setting myself challenges and goals because 'what gets measured gets done'! In 2025 I added running faster and further to my goals and achieved PBs in 10k (55m 14s), Half Marathon (1h 58m 23s), Full Marathon (4h 42m 57s - all in Zone 2) as an amateur at the age of 52!

I strongly believe you can achieve whatever you put your mind and heart to! My goals for my clients are to:
  • Deliver tailored sessions that make the most efficient, effective and enjoyable use of YOUR time and effort.
  • Give you the best experience of personal training and nutrition coaching by understanding your goals and lifestyle, including your exercise likes and dislikes, commitments to loved ones/work, nutrition, sleep, and mindset.
  • Support you to achieve your goals in a way that is challenging AND makes you feel good! I will ask for, and listen to, feedback to adjust and adapt.
  • Be part of a supportive and encouraging community with like-minded individuals in a dedicated WhatsApp group. My clients have found workout buddies, racing partners, and made new friends!

Your choice of Trainer is Personal! It's a very important relationship based on trust and understanding. I am based at Everyone Active Harrow Lodge (Hornchurch) and also deliver online training through the Performance Training app.

JESSICA PUTNAM

Hi, I’m Jessica Putnam – an athlete, coach, and business founder with a passion for pushing limits, on and off the track.

I started my career in the heptathlon, where I became a British Champion and placed 6th at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, 2014. Since then, I’ve transitioned into the 400m hurdles, where I’ve gone on to become an England Champion, Irish Champion, and placed 3rd at the British Olympic Trials in 2024. I'm proud to be the 16th fastest British athlete of all time over the 400m hurdles!

Beyond athletics, I’ve taken on new challenges in the world of HYROX as a sponsored athlete for Performance Training. I am hugely grateful for the support., encouragement and community at the HYROX Training Club! I went to Malaga with the team in April 2025 and achieved 1st place in the women’s doubles (30-39 AG) which gained us a qualification to the World Championships! I took the opportunity to race in a mixed relay at HYROX London Olympia in May and placed 3rd in the the Under-40 AG!  Next up: the HYROX World Championships 2025 in Chicago – and I couldn’t be more excited.

It doesn't stop there! I am an ambassador for RACE5, a great fitness race that has 5 Runs, 5 Workout Zones, and 5 Categories to compete in. I was part of a great RELAY5 team in April (which was great practice for HYROX London Olympia!) and I'm looking forward to more RACE5 training sessions and racing this year.

Alongside competing, I’ve built a career around helping others achieve their best. Whether I’m training, racing, or coaching, everything I do is rooted in passion, discipline, and the belief that we’re all capable of more than we think.

DANIEL PUTNAM

A few words about me…I am an athlete and coach and lead the HYROX Track sessions on Thursdays with Jessie.

I grew up playing football in Millwall Academy, until I was 15 years old, alongside competing in athletics from the age of 13. I competed for England for the first time at 16, and GB at 18, as well as winning National titles in every age group from u15 all the way up to senior level over the 400m and 200m distances.

Since 2019, I have coached myself to PBs over all distances - despite now being in my 30s, which is considered old in sprinting terms!

​I now coach athletics academies, engaged couples in the build up to their wedding day, and people from various other sporting backgrounds who are looking to add speed to their armoury.

STEVEN SOUTHERN

I have coached over 150 runners over the past 5 years, including some who have gone on to win 10km national titles and others who have completed 100-mile ultra marathons.

I have also worked as an endurance and nutrition consultant to multiple clubs, teams and charities. I offer lactate threshold tests, consult on training plans based on lactate data, and provide field testing for athletes, as well as education on lactate and exercise physiology and nutrition to run clubs.

​I spend most of my spare time reading on physiology and nutrition and am currently working towards a 50-mile ultra marathon and a 200kg deadlift in 2026.

BEN CLARKSON

I have extensive experience in English football, including working with top-tier football clubs and elite athletes, which is the cornerstone of my clinic - Match Fit Physiotherapy – that I founded over 18 years ago.
